ElectricalElectric Continuity Test

In certain applications, there is a requirement for an electrical bond between the end fittings of a hose assembly, this is to avoid creating a static build-up within the length of the hose.

This is achieved by incorporating a conductive material within the hose bonded to the end fittings. Continuity is ascertained by measuring the resistance (Ω) between the two ends of an assembly, using a multi-meter.

The calibrated multi-meter will determine if the system has an open or closed circuit and the amount of resistance. The resistance is measured from one end of the system to another in ohms. Depending on the system and relevant standards, limits are set for the maximum or minimum electric resistance.

All measurement criteria are in line with EN ISO 8031, Annex A, which is the industry standard.
